Lakeshore Financial is a Life Planning Services company based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

Originally designed in Microsoft Publisher, Travis agreed to help convert the Publisher format into modern HTML standards. After fighting with Microsoft’s proprietary code, a complete rewrite was done instead. Travis got a little carried away with the rewriting of the code and instead did a complete redesign of the site.

The redesign was originally built on the WordPress blogging platform, but after complications with Lakeshore Financial’s current web host, the switch was made to the GetSimple XML-based content management system.

In order to replicate some of the features that were originally included in WordPress, a quick and dirty plugin was created to handle listing events on the calendar.

In addition to the web site, a complete redesign of templates and business cards were also created.
