After feeling pretty confident getting a Boxee RSS App working, I figured I’d take on something a little more daunting: creating a Boxee Python App.

I decided to do an ABC News app after seeing ABC 7 News in the App Box. Since ABC 7 an Owned and Operated (O&O) affilate, this would give me a wonderful starting point. I figured if this is able to play video just fine on one of the O&O affiliates, it should work fine on all the others since they’re all the same design and layout (just about).

Mind you, I have NO idea what I’m doing and definitely not a programmer, but pretty good at trying to figure things out. I’m still pretty sure I may be in WAY over my head here.

Before getting even to the app, I had to decide how I wanted it laid out. I tried to keep to the Boxee layout while at the same time keeping true to the O&O page layout.

I’ve got a long way to go, but hope the Boxee Community joins me on this long ride.
